About the Role

Zelescope is seeking a skilled WordPress Developer with expertise in creating custom plugins and themes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress core and be able to develop innovative solutions to enhance our web presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom WordPress plugins to extend functionality of our websites
• Create unique, responsive WordPress themes that align with our brand identity
• Maintain and update existing WordPress sites, plugins, and themes
• Collaborate with the design team to implement visual elements and UX improvements
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
• Optimize WordPress sites for maximum speed and scalability
• Implement security best practices to protect our WordPress installations
• Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress-related issues

Requirements

• Proven experience in WordPress development, including custom plugin and theme creation
• Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with WordPress coding standards and best practices
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Understanding of responsive design principles
• Ability to optimize WordPress performance and security
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with popular WordPress plugins and frameworks (e.g., WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields)
• Knowledge of SEO principles and their implementation in WordPress
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)
• Experience with API integrations
• Contributions to open-source WordPress projects
